Default Captians Choice on a Mariah

Thought I would post up some pics of my 1997 Mariah with driveway built captains choice exhoooost.

Bought some Corsa Diverters on eBay and made some sparks with my welder.

Scariest part was cutting the huge hole in the side of the boat!!!

I can't tell from the pictures, but it almost looks like there is a dip in the routing of the exhaust pipe between the engine and the exhaust outlets. I hope this is not the case as that is an absolute NO-NO on a wet marine exhaust. I hope its just the picture angles and such, kind of hard to tell.
Nice installation work.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

I agree with Rayler it looks like nice work but you do not want water to get sucked back up in your engine.. No one here is knocking you we just don't want you to have engine problems. I know a lot of Mariah boats came with side exhaust so look for one in you area and ask if you can see under the hatch.

I beleive the factory location for CC exhaust exit was out the back below the rub rail on the extended part of the hull. It definitely appears that there is a dip that would collect water just beyond the diverter.

Here is link to a similar boat. I was wrong on the exit being below the rubrail. It is above. Mariah's were popular on my local lake as the local boat dealer sold them for a time and they were built here in IL. Many of the Mariah models with thru-hull exhaust had these oval exits out the back.
