Steering wheel removal
This is probably a stupid question, but how the f*** do I pull the steering wheel off my ZX? I pulled and pulled and tried everything i could think of. I am assuming I must need a wheel puller? I though it would unbolt and slip off, but not so much.

You need a wheel or gear puller.

Yes, you need a steering wheel puller. They are a pain in the butt. Just got done taking mine off not long ago. The puller kit i had didnt have the correct size thread bolts, and the nearest hardware store is like a 45 minute drive from my storage place. Ended up having to rig up some washers, and what not. Long story short, without the right tool it sucks. They are a tight fit.

Even with a wheel puller they can be tough. Once you get the puller under a good amount of tension strike the end of the puller with a hammer.

I've just pulled on the wheel while having someone tap the shaft lightly with a soft hammer and have them pop right off.
The impact shock from the hammer taps have always worked w/o the need for a puller. |
i back the nut off to the end of threads an smack it with a hammer, comes right off an the threads dont get buggered up
even if they do a little, when yu remove the nut it chases them |
if all else fails, take a sawzall to the dash...
