GPS Antenna to Gaffrig Speedo

General question here:

I have a Standard Horizon CP160 GPS unit currently mounted on the dash. I am planning on getting rid of it but would like to keep the antenna. The antenna attached to my Gaffrig GPS speedo is dead. Is it possible to use the antenna from the Standard Horizon GPS unit and attach it to the Gaffrig GPS speedo?

Not sure on your unit, but I do this with my Garmin chartplotter. The chartplotter has a NMEA output wire, which is hooked to my speedo. Works just fine. I am pretty sure your antenna can work

I have read about being able to use an output wire hooked to the speedo, however, I'm getting rid of the GPS unit. Also, I don't believe mine has an output wire anyhow.

I'm gonna have to do that actually when I get to the boat so I can look at it while talking to them.
