New Cam/ Reversion issues?
Putting new top ends on my twin merc 260/350's. Curious if this cam would cause any reversion issues. As I have ordered everything but the cams and push rods.
I ordered new 170cc aluminum heads, 1.5 roller rockers, edelbrock performer rpm dual plane intake, edelbrock 1409 carb. Using factory manifolds with tall riser spacers, and thru-hulls, for now, until I land some more cash for aftermarket manifolds and risers. According to build/dyno sheets depending on the cam selection HP/TQ numbers are anywhere from 365hp/400tq to 425hp/395tq. The cam I am looking at witht he rest of the goodies produces the 365/400 numbers at about 5200-5400 rpm which is right where I want to run at WOT. should be good, im running a lt4 hot cam with stock exhaust and have no trouble with reversion.
my specs are as follows 218/228 @.050 .525 lift 112 LSA 1.6 rocker arms |
You start sucking water back the wrong way when you get to the high 230's @.050. 235 is borderline with stock exhaust, you can get 239 with good drop in a good set of tail pipes like stainless's or EMI's. The Square stock ones should be 235 or less..
