Stock hp 500 hold up to a supercharger

I have a stock hp 500 carb in my 27 fountain and was wondering if it would hold up to a supercharger if I left it at low boost. I just want a little extra out of the boat to surprise everyone this year.

If the valve train had low hours or was serviced with new springs, yes. Just keep the engine cool, a/f rich and timing low all in.

My biggest concern would be the head gaskets.

The motor has 100 hours on it now. So I am kinda thinking about running it this summer and then going through the heads and putting in better gaskets and doing the supercharger next winter. Then maybe I can find a used whippel or B&M over the summer. Who is the best to talk to about setting it up. Any ideas

Whipple sells a kit for that motor even uses stock carb makes 7 and some Change pretty impressive I think. At least most of the setup work would be done for you already with a kit like that

Because they have been known to push the gaskets out between cylinders and blow torch the block.
