New Depth Guage / Old Hull Transducer

I bought a new Gaffrig Depth Finder head and am trying to wire it to the old transducer thats already in place. I think I should be able to do that, but I'm having problems.

Does anyone know if that will work? If you think it will, can I send you a picture of the wiring and you can maybe help me?

thanks,
Andrew

In my search to replace my Lowrance 3200, I found that the transducer is rated at a certain Hz. Your transducer must be rated the same as the new the Gaffrig you bought. I had an old 192hz transducer which had to be replaced with a new 200hz transducer. Since I used a Lowrance from dash to stern, it was all just plug in and wire to existing wiring. Hope that helps a little bit.

unless boat is in the water all the time, replace with correct transducer. if you can't plug it in, it most likely won't work with new unit.

I did an update on mine and used the existing transducer and it works well. I was fortunate that the old transducer was the correct frequency. Figuring out wiring was a little tricky as I didn't have a schematic for the old unit but I was able to figure it out.
