049 heads / peanut heads
 

i have a set of bare 049 heads.

Will the valves and springs work out of peanut heads on the 049's?

I cant see spending all the money on inconel valves for the 049 when i can buy a new heads with them in there for almost as much

yes, but they are only 2.06 valves. to wake up large oval heads you need 2.18s and some port work. they will perform better than the round ports at 4000 on up, but not as much better as you are looking for.

I reused valves but went to stronger springs for new cam

I have a set of new springs retainers and keepers out of a set of take off 088 heads. These were for the stock roller cam. If your interested let me know, I'll make you a good deal.
