I sell those same t-stats kits but include 4 different gaskets as well for the orginal housings or different housing configurations. 25 bucks plus shipping.

Thanks for all the advice everything is plumbed properly, thermostat is assembled in the proper order. The high flo stat could be a option. Going to try something this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

should temp guage be in thermo housing, or intake? i have one in each place...prev owner was running no t-stats. said as soon as temp gets off the cold pin, it was too hot...i hope to be finding out soon...

Dont forget the cork or o-ring on top of the tstat, Alot of people forget and the stat will not seal properly !

i am used to most big blocks being closed cooling. that is why that is first thing i asked. in retrospect, i shoulda realized this housing is raw water only.

Well it looks like I found the culprit to my problem. Who would of thought. Looks like It was cracked for a while cause the one side was not clean brass. Boat ran great the last run in October of 2011. Then made the changes with exhaust and T-stat housing and the problems began. What a coincedence.

Griff, my friend and I talked about it but only thought if the previous owner had put a automotive pump on there and it wore out the impeller. As we started to take it apart we thought this can't be the problem cause of the stainless backing plate it was a marine pump but sure enough it was broke inside.
