2001 Maxum 2500 SCR stuck in neutral

As the title says its stuck in neutral. It acts like the neutral button on the shifter/throttle lever is pushed in.

I haven't tried to take it apart yet, going to in the morning.

Any tips on how to get it apart or what might be wrong?

Will the throttle move and rev the engine, but just not engage into gear? Or will it not move? Might want to check the control cable connection on the transom assembly. Then check the control cable connection at the throttle before you start pulling the throttle apart. Be careful to remember how to put the throttle back together if you pull it apart.

yes the throttle fuctions fine. the shift linkage in the engine bay is not moving, it looks and feels like the neutral button is stuck in the neutral posistion.

I will definately take pictures and label things as necessary when it comes apart.

Is that a quicksilver 3000 throttle?

I just googled quicksilver 3000, thats not it, I'm not at the boat right now, I'll see if I can figure out what it is before I go back down to the boat tomorrow.
