Coolant plugs on 496 ho?
SubscribeTrying to get info on coolant drain plugs for 496 ho,read a lot of forums &say that on side of block down by oil pan ,only found 1 on port side( think it's the oil galley plug,,,,,,just trying to change antifreeze out ,older motor, any help would be helpful!!!!!!
Yes!!!,raylar was correct, very, very hard to "see" them ,got them out!,any suggestions on type of thread sealant to reinstall with?,looked like white pipe dope from, possible factory sealant originals:
We find that when we remove these plugs there always seems to be enough white teflon pipe dope on them for a reseal. If there is still white thread seallant on the plugs, tighten them back in nice and tight and they won't leak.

( new pump -comes with no pulley)lol,so have no ref to go by.
Any help on this issue would be great!

just press it on the shaft till the pulley is flush with end of the shaft, loosely attach and check alignment with a straight edge along the front of the other pulleys, pressing the pulley this far worked perfect when i changed to the stainless pumpOriginally Posted by 26 sonic

anything that is known to be straight will work, i used a 2 foot level on its side, though it is about an inch thick, you could also use a yard stick as long as its straightOriginally Posted by 26 sonic
