Outdrive jack
Who makes a cheap outdrive jack. All the thing is really is a modified engine stand wth a bottle jack. I've seen them for around $400. Not worth that much to have collecting dust most of the time.

I have one made by yard arm that tilts side to side, forward & back, up & down based on a floor jack platform, about 600.00. The best money I ever spent on equipment after hanging a couple of bravos on a boat under a swim platform. Randy

Here is a good thread about it.

Thanks for the link, lots of nice ideas there. I never even thought about the swim platform being a pain. I never installed a drive on a boat that had one before.

Here is a link to to the one I build and have been selling for about 4 Years, it is designed to fit under most all swim platforms. People say it's the best money they have spent if you do the work yourself.

Yup, thats a good looking lift. We had one something like that in the boat shop in Kuwait, worked great. For home though, I can't justify the cost for something I might use once in a great while so I will be building one. Materials including the jack will come in around $100. I can spare a couple hours doing the fab work

I just sold 4 units to the Dept of the Navy. 2 for Norfork and 2 units went to Bahrain. I understand, but to do it right you will have 3 or 4 hours labor, thats why I have to charge what I do
