make sure you have at leaste 7psi of fuel pressure before you blow it up..it will bang and pop at 3k if the fuel pressure is low..

new or used superchargergot a boost gauge?

Keep in mind, the V6-14 module only gives about 10* of advance on a V8 engine.

base timming set at 19* so all in would be at about 29* should be right in the ballpark, but dosent seem like the timming is advanceing after 2500 rps like it should

if you have a light on it and timing doesn't move while revving, module isn't advancing. very few die, but that is more than none...

142 with 5 lbs of boost @ 3000 rpms?

what cubic inch?? if your trying to put that blower on a 502 cid your going to need a bigger blower or wine that one up until it exploads..sorry i dont think timing is your problem..i thing your not moving enough air into the engine that it requires..even with a 250 blower your usually around 3psi with around a 3'' blower pully..

Says sbc fixall so I'm guessing a 350? You'll have to put a light o it to verify timing isn't advancing. Is it making 5 psi at 3000? That's a lot at low rpm. My 174 on a 454 didn't really make much until 4000 rpm

With the V6 module on a V8 engine, all the advance(10*) is in by about 2500rpms.

ok could be a number of things,,did you try a colder plug?? did you tighten up the sparkplug gap? boost could be blowing out the spark..try a .028 gap and see what that does..

think i found the problem pulled conection to modular off pulled rubber boot off ,the ground wire connector was pushed all the way off to one side.no way it was makeing a solid connection , straightend out the prongs pluged it back up fired it up itll jump up to 6000 rpms now .will know if thats it when i get it back out on the river. thanks for the input guys

Griff 07-31-2012 01:53 AM

Make sure you're running at least 30* timing advance. Not running enough advance will cause high exhaust gas temps and burns valves.
