The local Bumper to Bumper here keeps them in stock. About $30

But has anyone tried to re-use them. The ones I bought were advertised as reusable. I liked the instal and they didn't leak but removed after 20hrs to check out things and they were both all out of shape and oversized like they swelled or stretched. Installed regular ones I already had. I paid@50 bucks apeice for them to hang on the wall before trashing.

These pan bolts dont take a lot of torque. I believe 7ft lbs is the spec. I like to start in the center like Mike Tkach said, and lightly snug each bolt. Just snug, not tight. Then go all the way around and back to the first bolt. Then tighten all once more to spec all the way around. This way the pan seats evenly. Same way I put intake manifolds on.

Some guys will skip the RTV in the corners of the block, and say its not needed. I prefer not too skip it. If it makes me less of a man because of that, so be it. Beats pulling the motor again for a pan leak. Its just not going to hurt anything.

How much RTV are you using in the corners? I was told the torque spec is 12ftlb but not for sure.

1/4 x 1/2 bead..WHEN USING THE FEL PRO BLUE GASKET YOU MAY NEED TO START THE 2 FRONT AND THE 2 REAT 5/16 BOLTS AND DRAW THE PAN DOWN FIRST SO YOU CAN GET ALL THE SHORT 1/4' BOLTS TO START..THEIRS ALOT OF RUBBER ON BOTH ENDS OF THAT GASKET..
