Where is the fuel leaking from?

I've got a 96 VIP w/ 5.7 merc. w/ I think is a Weber 4barrel carb (it look like an Edelbrock). The problem is after it sits for just a few days, the fuel bowl on primary side will be empty. I assume that it leaks/drains out into the intake. But how? and where from? There is no signs of fuel leaking externally. There is no bowl gasket to let it leak out. Confused?!

Its a common problem with Weber carbs as they get older. Not sure where the actual leak occurs.

i think it perculates and runs out throttle shaft. aluminum body heats up, steel shaft takes longer to expand thermally.

Thats what I was thinking/afraid of, too! Not an easy fix.
