Yeah mine react fast. A lil bump of switch is sometimes more than enough. It's pumps just like merc drives. Very responsive.

Two pumps is a good idea, will have to keep that in mind if I see a spare pump. I have a spare trim pump, but not a spare tab pump.

Mine look the exact same. Trim an tabs.

I had the same debate and ended up finding a cheap Bennett 12 x 16 plane that I put on the existing system. The plane was much more beefy. If I remember correctly it cost me $160 for the planes (new but in someones garage off fleabay) and I had to drill some bigger holes (the pattern matched up but the screws where larger). They sell these with the dual cylinders but i ran mine with a single cylinder and it did fine. example http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=79744055785

That's a viable solution. Thanks for sharing.

I have 150S K Planes on my 23' outboard vee. The smaller tab works great on my small 70 mph boat.

i did the same about 2 years ago...found 16 plates to replace my 12.bolted up to the dual rams no problem.did need a 2nd row of screws to attach plate to boat. very happy with results..i think i spent around 150 or so as well.ebay
i think im going to give that 2 pump system a try my self

So you are saying your Mercruiser drive trim pump and your Bennett trim tab pump look the same?

If you can find some used ones in good shape I would go for it. Not sure I would spend $2K+ on them for a smaller boat.

I put used ones on mine, I've got about $700 in the tabs and pumps and worth every penny.

On that boat you can hurt yourself with k-planes if you aren't careful...Bennett's should be all you need. My Opinion, not that you care
