Lonseal flooring - lets see the pictures

As the title says. I am thinking of putting down some lonseal flooring in my scarab but would like to see what other people have done.

Doesn't have to be lonseal, also open to other ideas. Right now I have grey indoor/outdoor carpet and I think I need something different :)

Here's some pics of Lonwave in my Scout.... All I can tell you is the lonwave is not comfortable on the feet. Not a big deal on my boat since there is little standing room. My buddy ItsPeanut on here found these guys. He suggested them to me for how well he was happy with the customer support... I to was happy with them

Boy I really like the way that looks (awesome job on the boat too!!)

You say it's tough on the feet huh! Unlike you I drive most of the time standing up and barefoot so not sure that will wok for me! The carpet doesn't give much either but at least it isn't embossed!

Is this material hard like plastic or is it more of a rubber material?

Yes, it is hard like plastic. If you like I can send you a sample, I just wont be able to ship it out til next week Monday. Its at my shop and I wont likely be out there till the weekend. The loncoin is much easier on the feet. However, it is some what dated now.

So the comfort thing is really bothering me! :angry-smiley-038:

What are some other options for flooring other then indoor/outdoor carpet?

how about seadek? I recently did my cruiser in it and it is soft, stain proof, and so far holding up (2 years). You can buy it in sheets to make it one piece

+1

They will even template and do custom logo's anywhere on the boat. My friend has this on his swim platform of the scarab, just bad azz. I have been considering doing the floor of my fountain.

I looked at Lonseal, but after receiving samples, I knew it was too hard for long term standing. The lighter stuff also seems to look dirty over time. I ended up using this PVC flooring called Deckadence and couldn't be happier. It has a nice cushioned backing and doesn't matter if it gets wet. Best of all, it doesn't show every little spec of lint or dirt like my old navy carpeting. I used the carpet as a template and simply cut it with a scissors, then added snaps.

Plum crazy what did that set ya back??

Plum_Crazy 04-04-2013 01:25 PM

IIRC, it was ~$400. But, I had enough to do under the rear seat and the head as well.

I also did the dekadence after looking at seadek and lonseal. I liked being able to easily remove it to clean the boat or it if needed and it is extremely comfortable for standing on and doesn't get overly hot in the sun. Water also runs right through it so it doesn't hold moisture. I bought a 6'x6' piece and I think it was around $350. Great product though. You can go to their website and they will send you free samples.
