Lighting Headers
 

My lighting headers developed pinholes at the water injection point and rusted through into the exhaust section.:lolhit:
They are pretty much toast now and im looking at CMI Fusion Headers.

The header would be fine on a dry system now however i think they will be anchor weights.Anyone want them?

Anyone know if lighting offers overhaul on them>?

I would be interested in them. I have gill now. I Am a disable millwright. I am 44 yrs old. I broke my back in 3 three spots. I can and do TIG. We will see what lighting says however I really like the design of the CMI fusion headers and Bill at Ateco has been very helpful to me over the years.
They reduce the amount and length of hose needed by adding longer tubes to the headers.
I have no experience with CMI products but the info i am hearing on them sounds good.

The lighting headers are ok and sound good but very bulky and 1 bolt on each header takes modifying a 7/16ths wrench to install one turn at a time.:angry-smiley-038:
I had to go to 12 point bolts on them as well for torque. If lighting makes me happy or offers me an overhaul I might stay with them well see!

Yeah i know what you mean,,i use the 12 point 5/16 head arp SS header bolts on them.. FYI...lightening also makes hardin headers..so theirs another option

I have never measured for headers before but the instructions were pretty simple. After giving the measurements to CMI they built mine and they fit like a glove Also the bolts are pretty easy to get to. Randy

I have a set of Lightnings and use the Stage 8 fasteners and have no problems. Mine are 15 years old and still like new, I sent them to Lightning last year for a complete check-up. For the money and performance I would definitely go with Lightning again. If the headers rusted out I would check everything if your running open cooling.
