Oil Pump
What oil pump do you all use to change oil?
|
I do not use a pump or recommend one.
The problem with pumping oil out through the dipstick is you cannot get all the used oil out like a drain plug ever. I use a high end hydraulic hose with threaded elbow fitting (safety wire it) and brass cap on the end that is ran through the bilge hole when I need to change the oil. Its rated well above any oil pressure rating your engine will produce. JMHO Jump 26 God Bless |

Electric Jabsco. Get's 9 1/2 of the 10 quarts out of my 496. You change often enough that 1/2 quart of oil isn't hurting anything. My oil drain hose that you pull out the drain plug opening has never flowed any oil and short of pulling the motor I cannot figure out why.

I use a Jabsco pump with 1/4 HP. electric motor. :ernaehrung004:

One with metric threads and Sae. Mines got em but a ***** to get it out of the drain. Use this on the end of the hose which works well. http://www.amazon.com/Mityvac-7201-F.../dp/B0002SR7TC |
I got one from west marine. How much oil will the hp500 hold?
|
I just replaced my bucket style jabsco oil changer with a new one that is like a gas container with a pump from jabsco. Easier to haul around & holds all the oil from both engines, 20+ qts. Got it from Amazon.com for 139.00 Randy
