Oil Pump

What oil pump do you all use to change oil?

I do not use a pump or recommend one.
The problem with pumping oil out through the dipstick is you cannot get all the used oil out like a drain plug ever.

I use a high end hydraulic hose with threaded elbow fitting (safety wire it) and brass cap on the end that is ran through the bilge hole when I need to change the oil.
Its rated well above any oil pressure rating your engine will produce. JMHO

Why would you be worried about pressure, it's in the pan. Oil and temp resistance would be more important, along with flexibility to feed it through the bilge plug hole. Not ripping you just pointing out that a focus on pressure is unnecessary, abrasion resistance is also a plus.

Electric Jabsco. Get's 9 1/2 of the 10 quarts out of my 496. You change often enough that 1/2 quart of oil isn't hurting anything. My oil drain hose that you pull out the drain plug opening has never flowed any oil and short of pulling the motor I cannot figure out why.

I use a Jabsco pump with 1/4 HP. electric motor. :ernaehrung004:

I got one from west marine. How much oil will the hp500 hold?

I just replaced my bucket style jabsco oil changer with a new one that is like a gas container with a pump from jabsco. Easier to haul around & holds all the oil from both engines, 20+ qts. Got it from Amazon.com for 139.00 Randy
