Why would you buy a cam of unknown grind?

You can always spin it on a couple of vee blocks with a degree wheel on it and a dial indicator. With that setup you can map the duration, lobe center, and lift of the cam. Sounds like that's going to be your only hope unless somebody recognizes those numbers (I don't).

Sounds like a typical Swap Meet deal. "What does it fit; Well what ya got"!

Use it for a paper weight. Not worth the risk to use an unknown component.

Find someone with a cam doctor and see what you have.

Check with your local machine shop as Vintage Chromoly said if they have a cam doctor they can tell you what you have or don't have. If that doesn't work some cam manufactures will check them if you send it to them. Make sure if you go this route you pack it very good I sent one to my cam guy it arrived to them broken, UPS would not cover it even though it was insured. I hate to say it but if you got a good deal on it .....there is a reason . Good Luck

used cams

Buying a used cam is risky business.
And the effort to install.
Then to set the valves properly.
After all that work what happens if the cam shaft is not hardened properly.
Its a lot of effort for an unknown.
Your much better off buying a new cam. matching lifters, and valve springs and now you know where you are.

Good luck anyway sometimes you get lucky, but your time is worth money.Let us know if you have been successful or not.
