Fountain FEVER 32 ADVICE
Im interested in buying a 32 fountain fever with twin 502 mpi engines .....
Would like for FOUNTAIN 32 fever owners to check in and say what the gota say about this boat Performance ??? Pros and cons ??? How to get the stern higher then the water line ?????????????????? |
I had a 98 with 502 Mag MPI's, Bravo 1's, Hydromotive 28 pitch Quad 4's for 10 years. It was a fantastic boat for me. Here in the Chesapeake bay where waves can get ugly 3-4', once I learned how to drive the boat and use the K planes it did very well. It jumped on plane well without having to hammer the throttles, top speed was 78 on GPS. It was very tight in the bilge to perform any maintenance but, the engines were great, very dependable but I spent most of the time cruising at about 3200 RPM. The stern sitting so low is the nature of the beast, not anything you can do about that.

I have a crazy question about this boat...has anyone ever put donovan aluminum blocks and other weight saving systems to raise the stern?
|
Had one for a year,, great boat but no room to work on motors and most of them leak water at the Rub Rail. Overall best bang for your buck.
|
Thanks guys for replying .... They run pretty fast with stock power .... Ive been doing alot of research about this boat cause im from MALTA and there isint 1 here ... I learned from here about the rubrail leaking but thats an easy fix as im a jack of all trades ......
Most of the time it will be driven at criusen speeds but at times I like to hammer the throttles cause im a spped freak and we do alot of over nighting at Comino over the weekends so it seems to be a wise idea to block the rear vent holes while the boat is moored !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys and keep posting :cool-smiley-027 and stay safe !!!!!!! |

There is at lease one person on here with the small blocks, I thin they are right at 70, no more.
|
the main thing you need to be concerned with is the transom, forward bulkhead and possibly stringers rotted out, these are known to have these issues, so ck closely

I would look for a 35 instead of a 32, a lot better balanced boat. Same power, the 35 is faster.
