we put our logo on the back of some hoodies for the employees Friday, turned out really well. I will have to confirm that this is what we used, but it is a much thicker material. Once pressed on, it feels thick like something that was glued and flocked. kinda hard to describe, but I am going to be ordering some more. Going to do a polo shirt to match my 272LS Formula. haven't decided on a style yet. maybe just the bird on the back and Formula 272 LS over the breast.

I bought a Copam-2500 from UScutter.com for $800 back in 2008 or so. has worked great for us, pretty basic model but works just fine as a 24" wide hobby cutter! heck, I vinyl cut stuff for all kinds of things. Everyone should have one! In January I add a 3D ABS printer to my toy shed. Can't wait for that.

Man, I hate having to correct myself. Wrong material, we have been using the Siser EasyWeed Stripflock. It is about 4 times as thick as the EnduraTex HotFlock, I had to increase the cutting depth of the blade, but then it worked pretty well.

First attempt at a 2 color sticker.... Room for improvement

tomtbone1993 11-13-2013 10:24 PM

so...let me make sure I understand this correctly... I can spend $500.00 + or - and can logo my employees shirts, cut out mask covers, and have a cool toy to print boat stickers ??

mptrimshop 11-13-2013 10:44 PM

Yup... The iron on heat transfer for shirts can get a little tricky.... I have had 3 wins and 1 loss..... But I'm just using a $17 iron from Walmart.... But I have washed the shirts and they are all good.

Tbone you can make your signature decals to place on boats

befu 11-15-2013 08:59 PM

For heat transfers, I am using a $200 clamshell press I bought on eBay over a year ago. About 16" square, works great.

As far as why I buy film at sign warehouse, can't remember. Might have been a difference back then on price or film suppliers, no idea anymore.

mptrimshop 11-15-2013 09:26 PM

The heat press us next on my list...... I really want and embroidery machine

I picked up a refurbished 24" cutter frm Sign Warehouse for $200.
It came with the beginner software, so I can't modify anything to a vector files
Took a while to get it set up in my computer correctly, but I'm having fun with it now.
Feel free to send me any cool vector files that I can play with.

They look good! I read your thread and just had to go buy a "MH" series from US Cutter. What file type did you cut all these stickers from? My vinyl didnt come yet but everything else it set up and running. Thanks!!!

mptrimshop 12-14-2013 06:42 PM

I use an image converter to turn them into SVG files. It don't work with everything but I would say %85 it is successful.

http://image.online-convert.com/convert-to-svg

This will help you a lot

mptrimshop 12-14-2013 06:44 PM

Use the pen adapter on paper to practice.... Post some pics. Let's see what ya got.

Cobra100+ 12-14-2013 07:56 PM

Cool, I will try it out. Thanks for the tips!

I picked up a Brother machine a couple years ago. Its pretty cool and anything I can do in vinyl I can do in embroidery BUT . . . . and its a big but . . . there is very little corolation between vector art software and embroidery. I have had to learn a whole new ulility and a whole new way of setting up graphics. The formats are heavily gaurded and there really not a whole lot of similarities. Its cool but waaayyy different. I kinda have to laugh every time I go into the sewing and embroidery supply shop to get some more colors or stabilizer lol there usually a couple of blue hairs milling about an me in there. The lady I usually buy stuff from always tries to getme to do some of there classes :D somewhow I think I may stand out in there

I hear ya Dave every now and again I have to run to the fabric store to look for something. At first they talk to me like I'm a child.... Then once they find out what I do, they have a bunch of questions. I always tell them they should learn boats and cars..... Pays better than quilts. LOL. When I have things embroidered now the shop I go to sends the image out to get "digitize" I think she said the company that dose it is out if china. It takes 2 days to a few hours... She charges me $35 for it. I'm willing to bet that's prob the best route to take since your not wasting time setting the image up.

glassdave 12-14-2013 09:39 PM

yep, it actually use to cost me right around a hundred to get an image digitized, price has come down a bunch over the years. Some stuff I can do from scratch but more complex stuff I still send out. I dont use it a lot so im not real proficient, I need to put more time into it. The stuff I've done so far is cool but took me while.

mptrimshop 12-14-2013 09:54 PM

The stuff I had dne was basic so the cost I'm sure goes up
