Sundown Audio subwoofers in a boat?
I have a set of sundown sa-8 subs that are not going to make it into my truck. I am wondering if anyone has used these in a boat and if so how well they hold up.
For 8" these things are just plain ignorant and if you YouTube them you will be quite impressed. I just don't want to ruin them. Thought's??? |
Jacob makes a nice woofer. When I was last into car audio he had a ton of rebuild kits for them too. I would run them until they stop working, then rebuild them and run them again. They are beastly little 8's with bigger motors on them then most 12's

They are insane in a car. You need inches in a boat if you want big bass. But yea you should not have any problem with them in the boat.

I am not really looking for big bass, I mainly listen to country/hard rock. I just have a pair of these that didn't make it to my truck and I thought about selling them but also thought maybe they would work in a boat. I know that they are put together well but still have a paper cone so I am afraid.

I have twin jl audio 12w7 subs in my boat, any subs in a boat are a little tricky, they do not respond the same as in your truck. Open air verses closed. I don't know much about sun down, other then they are old school, but can't imagine they would be damaged to awfully easy depending on location of mount. Which is where?
