500 efi injector clip
 

Anybody know where to get one?
It doesn't even appear on parts fiche?
Local Napa don't have it?

If you mean the one that holds the plug on the injector, it is a standard Bosch connector.

I can't find the clip, but this is the NAPA connector number CRB 218457

I am talking about the clip that holds the injector in the rail

There is no clip to hold the injector in. Once the rails are bolted down the injectors are captured. If the seals are good, they will hold the injector in the rail so you can install it into the manifold.

On my efi500 assuming they are stock rails, have slots on the sides of the rail. The slots on the rails actually show up on the fiche pictures on parts sites. The clips slide in this slot so you can slide them off of the injector, or on. When the clip is holding the injector it applies more distance on the injector into the manifold hole. Without the clip the injector has room to move more into the rail and less into the manifold. It has a considerable amount it can move. I would assume the design is to hold it more into the manifold to seal well, this could be especially important on a pressurized system, like a blower. I need to find the clip but thx for taking the time to respond. Hopefully someone will know where to get one.

Must have been a later motor than mine. I've seen what you are talking about on cars, but my HP 500s didn't have them. You may be right about the pressure thing, or it might just reduce seal wear.

These were used on many GM performance vehicles. The part # is 17112633 the number is the same, AC Delco and GM. Isuzu also used them 8-17112633-0. Once I found the part numbers, I went on E-bay there were many to be had cheap.

That would probably a good mod to have if you were going to put a Whipple on one or some other power adder. I never had an issue with mine, but I did replace them a few times when I had the rail off, on an older engine I bet they'd help prevent seal wear. Not an issue for me anymore, my HP's are long gone!
