Didn't you beat me racing once - Bench Racing .

On a serious note, with your big block what you need to wake up that boat is a set of bleed up lifters, adjustable roller valves, peanut butter port heads (I run'm - see info under my name to left),Harley two pump carb, corvette heads, and an external cam pulley. To start with.

As you mentioned, going to a bigger outdrive always provides more speed - my experience is 10mph or faster.

It's all Bravo II's these days and lap-Finnish elephant ear aluminum props. :coolcowboy:

Couldnt agree more on the peanut butter ports, especially at 7500RPM.

The external cam pulleys really wake it up. I have the small pulleys on mine. The cam spools up faster that way.

7500 rpm. you didn't change tach. it is reading 33% high. also you are running 1.65 or 1.68 gears in the v6 drive so engine IS over revving, but not that much. oh, if you have 188 heads, the 454 is a 365 hp mag motor, not 330 hp standard motor. much better engine to start with. what I was saying about the raven hull, is, spend what you like in time-energy on motor-drive, the boat will go fast and look good. I woulda bought it for 500 in a heartbeat if it fell in my lap. but be on lookout for a better hull to repower with that package in the future. you obviously know how to buy right. a 22 velocity, a Baja hammer, any 24-7 hull. and not even talking resale value, boats aren't worth the cost of building anymore. just a hull that will hold up to the pounding a boat gets when driven hard. good luck.
