What Spark Plugs For My 496 HO Mag?

Engine Serial Numbers: OW008002 & OW008003

I have an engine that just sounds sluggish and cannot get full MPH out of the boat. the other engine sounds ok. when you wick it from idle it just sounds choppy and lazy

2005. I have Napa that tells me:

Autolite 5245 $1.99 Platinum AP5245 $2.99
Belden 700699 Plug wires $149.00

Is that correct? I don't trust those counter guys.

Mercury part numbers are:
Mercury plug wire set 881698
Spark plugs 863622

I see the service bulleting allows for an AC 41-983 gapped to .060.
Has anyone used the Belden spark plug wires? I know Belden is a higher end quality of wire in the electrical world as I am an electrical contractor and Belden is the highest priced and make excellent products.

$149.00/set is a really good price as compared to what I am seeing otherwise. they are listed for mercruiser marine 496 HO MAG on the website and available through NAPA.

Use the delco's. I wouldn't worry about plug wires, it's more than likely the plugs them selves.

I recently went over my new to me HO. I went with new AC 41-983 plugs at .060 gap. Ohm'd the stock wires and everything very close to each other. Marine spark plug wires last forever due to cool external engine temps. Last MSD set on my old boat were used 1992 to current.
Ohm out the stock wires and look for variation in readings between wires before replacing.
