Need help with electrical issue
Having an issue with no power. I replaced the alternator yesterday and got it hooked back up and now have no power to anything except dash accessories. When I turn the ignition key nothing happens. The is no power at the fuel pump either. Trim is clicking, but no movement. I pulled the main harness plug to check and that looked fine. I also checked the 90a fuse on the starter and that is also fine. Any ideas where to start? If the main harness plug got damaged when I unplugged it would it do this?

Those plugs loosen up over time....especially if you wiggled it to remove it. pry open the male side of the pins....carefully. Then you should be ok.

Try hooking a battery charger or jump box to the battery to be sure you are not dealing with a discharged battery issue. Did everything work before you changed the alternator? If so make sure you didn't leave a wire off the battery when you disconnected it.

Check your grounds.

Turned out to be a blown 90a fuse on the starter. I must have grounded something out when swapping in the new alt. Thanks for your input guys.

Next time remove the battery cables when doing an alt. change...that will prevent this from happening again.
