Oil Temp or Water pressure gauge on single engine bravo boat?
I have one opening on my dash, which should I install? which is easier?
Thank You |
Oil temp is more important, IMO, between those two.
Atleast if the water pressure starts dieing off you can tell by the exhaust getting louder due to less/no water...theres nothing to tell you the oil temp may be too hot other than really low oil pressure. |
Oil temp is more likely to cause you trouble than water pressure my.02

Is there already a location for the sensor on a stock 502 mag mark 5 carbureted boat?

Thats funny because I would say water pressure. If the oil starts to get hot its usually from a blocked cooler.

Water press would be easier to install, just need a water line from intake to back of gauge

Oil temp transducer should be mounted in the pan. We usually have our fabricator TIG in a NPT bung when we build up our engines.

Also, I like the oil temp as it lets you know when you can get in the throttle.
