I would have the hoses made at a hyd shop whichever route you go, several had terrible issues of hoses blowing off using you assemble hose ends even when using the correct tool, may have issue fixed now...I would buy kit less hoses and have them made...when one blows in a full system you are not going anywhere !!!! trust me I found out the hard way

I have a VERY good shop for hoses just up the road. I want to do this "RIGHT" and "ONCE"....not interested in saving a "nickel"...I do everything I do..."right":cool-smiley-011:

The hardin kit hose ends do not require a tool..fid.. i think is the term. I still had a competent hydro shop cut hose and install ends for me. No leaks yet except for the filter housing, but it is a little drip so I havent done anything about it yet. Just keep a shop rag around it and swap the shop rag out each weekend. Add a few oz of fluid every 4th or 5th outing.

dumb question...but at what speed should be going to hydraluic system???

I'm no expert, but 70 seems to be the mark.

yea,,,thats what i have sort heard.....
and big fear is with stock steering is it blows out or whatever...ur going to HARD right turn...hopefully stay in boat...

thanks the tip on good systems,,,ziegers recommends 70 mph for hydr steeering....maybe 60 on some boats...

my runs in low 80's , i am surprised prior owner didnt have it installed...hmmm
