trim sender wiring

So while doing work on the transom assembly I noticed the senders were not looking to good so I ordered new, well last weekend I had some help available so we figured to knock out this and put things back together again, when was pulling the wires out of the loom I I came up with 2 broke off butt splice connectors instead of the merc plug, this is the trim indicator side, does it matter which way you connect them?

Yes, it will only work one way. If you wire it backwards the gauge will do reverse of the trim.

Thats good to hear, I just didn't want to fry anything hooking it backwards to test it.
It's a 95 bravo deal with an single rocker on the shift lever, halfway to trim all the way to trailer.

Thanks phragle!
Where did you find these?

phragle 04-20-2015 05:35 PM

I just googled mercury trim sender wiring, then hit images, I found a whole bunch of stuff last year when I rewired my boat.

Thanks again phragle, rob. I'll get the hang of this whole information highway one of these days. Lol
