TRS with MercTrans II, what torque for the tailstock retainer nuts ?
 
I;m putting the engines and trans back in, What should I torque the 6 - 7/16 nuts in the end of the tailstock to ???

Larry, The aluminum bearing retainer will bottom out against the trans tail stock. Then you just snug the nuts down to 12-15 lbs. No need for torque wrench, not that critical. You do this AFTER it is installed in the boat from the outside. Also put some grease on the rubber donut before sliding the engine/trans into place. Make sure there is a washer on the splined output shaft inside the tail stock held in there by an o-ring. This is for the spring on the drive yoke shaft to bottom against. Good luck! JIM

yes make sure the washer doesnt fall into the tailstock or else that weird spring will ruin your day
