why the differences between Gil manifolds?
2 Attachment(s)
Im looking for another set of Gil exhaust manifolds and saw a pair that has freeze plugs in them.
What are the differences between these vs these |
I think the casting plugs are just cosmetically finished over on newer ones.

From the pics it looks like your first set is missing the extra water nipple at the riser flange

no difference at all. matter of fact if u look close the area where the plugs are on the earlier sets the later sets are thin there and will rot thru ..there setup to have the plug there but the plugs are omitted and a very thin layer of alum is there .ive welded up many sets that leak where the plugs are supposed to be

What is the point of the nipple on the back side of the riser? I have a new Gil as a spare and it has this. My older ones with freeze plugs have a plug in the hole? Is it important to have this? If so, where do you plumb the water?
