exhaust air cylinders [replacements?]
got harrassed by the boat police at the fuel dock
little air compressor working like a champ old air cylinders seem to be not working air leaks around shaft . any replacement ideas that arnt 70 bucks apiece from gaffrig? |
Take them apart. Theres O-rings in there. You can get the orings at most hardware stores.

That and don't lubricate them with oil - use dish soap - just a few drops into the air fitting. I tried oil on mine years ago and it made them worse, Talked to a MERC guy and he told me to use dish soap.

I had the same issue a couple years ago. I replaced the internal O rings as MT said and problem solved.
They look like one piece, but the endcaps do unscrew. |
will take them off today and try that thank you for the help
new ones are like 70 bucks each! |
This was from another thread of the same subject. I saved the info, just not the thread.
Parker 1.06 bore, 2" stroke, 5/16" shaft spring extend air cylinder, parker 1.06RSR02.0 Google/Amazon and $29 for new ones :boat: http://www.amazon.com/Parker-1-06RSR.../dp/B00BUA72P0 |
I replaced mine a year or two ago for less than 1/2 Gaffrig price, I'll try to find the receipt. On the subject, has anyone replaced the little air pump/compressor? I took mine all apart last year and it failed again after a couple days... Very prone to salt.
