Trying to break 100mph with my spare parts. What do you think?
Probably going to write a book here, so please bear with me.
I just picked up a 28' Advantage Sport Cat yesterday on the cheap. It currently has a low hour 502 with iron heads and a 177 single carb blower setup. The previous owner hasn't found the build sheet for me yet, but he claims that it has a good crank and rods in it and has JE flat top pistons. He has never quite got this combo running very well and I would say that it is because of the puny blower setup and single carb. Has a hydraulic roller of unknown size and an IMCO drive with a 1.36 gear ratio std length lower. Engine has Stainless Marine Gen III manifolds on it and the tails are dry. Well, almost dry. Water enters about 1 1/2" from the tip. The pipes are custom built thru-hull, so I really don't want to swap them out for headers and have new tails made if I don't have to.
I will be pulling the intake and heads in the next couple days to see what I can see.
Here is what I have on the shelf gathering dust
Brodix 325cc heads with chambers cut to 114cc
B&M 420 blower with 2 Holleys. 750's I think and several pulleys
A Doug Herbert blower cam BH2, lifters and springs
CBH2-114LC BBC Blower Cam 242/242 [email protected], 642/642, 114LC,
I have a complete spare XR drive, std length, 1.5 gear ratio
I have a -1" IMCO lower 1.5 gear ratio
I have no problem with buying another camshaft if this one is less than ideal and would like some recommendations on what to get.
My goal is around 800-850hp
I would love to put fuel injection on it if anyone has a couple throttle bodies and an injector plate that they would like to part ways with. Tails already O2 sensors in them as well.
Looking for feedback. Thanks, Joe

Well ill say this, you will gsin virtually nothing going to headers from gen 3 stainless so dont waste your time switching them, they will support 850 hp with no problem.
