Just my opinion and I am as entitled as you are. Its known that heat and plastic aren't a lasting combination, versus metal. FURTHERMORE... I wouldn't trust my cooling capacity to some spring that can get jammed up with sand.

I dont know whether or not the perko kit is better, not up to me to figure that out. I just didn't like the idea of plastic. I'm sure in 99.9% of the applications its used it would be perfectly fine, which probably included mine. But Murphy has a knack for following me around at times so I figured I'd eliminate that possibility.
