New risers - softwall hose question

Ok, so I finished replacing my risers with stainless ones from Hardin Marine. They are very nice. I used the same softwall exhaust hose that goes out to my tips.

The only thing I see my be an issue is that the soft hoes is not perfectly straight now. I have about a 2" drop from my riser to my transom. Will this slight bend cause the softwall exhaust to burn through the hose?

Once I figure out how to post a picture I will.

My boat is a 2006 Baja with a merc 5.0 mpi alpha thru hull ext. new stainless risers.

thanks

possible yes on your app ? And yes 4 sure - If the water flow is restricted in any portion internally from the hose. Run for x amount of time - pull the hoses off and check them internally for blisters. Also watch out for any water flow restrictions as that can also cause water reversion.

couple of other things since you are going for looks and hopefully any performance gains - The stock flame arrestor on these 4.3 L / 5.0 L / 5.7 L carb and MPI even the 350 MPI mag are very tiny with not enough area for air flow especially for a 350 MPI 300 hp mag engine. Also they are cheaply made.

Also the stock exhaust manifolds are poor for exhaust flow and scavenging

Also the rust drip stains running down are water leaks from the past and possible still currently.

That's correct and good idea - I forgot about those.

Yeah I seen those wedges, wont they cause the bolts or nuts not to clamp down flat on the riser?

can i use that corregated tubing that is flexible?

A few options. Run what you have and how it works. Probably fine. There's a lot of water runners by thru. And you will smell rubber burning before you have a problem.
#2. Get wedges
#3. If your local to me I can build you stainless tails
#4 raise your exhaust holes

Since it's not blocking water with that tailpipe set up, chances are it's fine. But it's not my boat and this is the internet so it's ultimately the owner's (OP) decision. :)
