Hard fuel line
I have a new electric fuel pump ordered, and my existing line will need to be replaced. In the past I have used steel line with double flared ends.
Bending it up has been a challenge because I am fussy. I like nice even straight runs. I get a little better at it each time though. The steel 3/8" diameter stuff is good and rigid. which is a virtue in many ways. But it's stiffness makes it hard to bend. I am thinking about whether to use that aluminum line because it's not as hard to bend. Or maybe some of that easy bend stuff. Any ideas? |
The fuel lines on my 50 year old Hatteras are all copper.

vibration will kill aluminum lines in time, steel will last nearly forever. make sure you have a good quality bender and flare tool. cheap ones will make life difficult.

The steel 3/8" diameter stuff is good and rigid. which is a virtue in many ways. But it's stiffness makes it hard to bend. I've got a couple of different brake tubin' benders, that if 1 won't make the bend I want, the other will,.... |
Aeroquip pushlock for the win. :):evilb:

Go to the parts store and get coated steel line. Won't rust and bends great

Are you using stainless steel?
That is what I used between the fuel rails and the regulator and the other end of the fuel rail and the distribution tee. It was a ***** to form. |
