Yes, I find all sorts of obscure things when I least expect it. Over time I've learned to bookmark it asap, or I will forget where I found it, or sometimes, what it was that I found.

All you had to do is ask. I got it from sutphen a year ago that had replacement cams from bullet for the 900 sc plus I got one with my crane cams when I got them. The two were nearly identical timing events.

Just compared to mine and has same grind and part number.

I'm curious why this cam hammers the valvetrain so badly. My cam is most likely, one size up from this one, BUT has less lash. The recommended replacement schedule is 150 hours, yet everywhere I've read on the 900 SC is 70 hours. Only thing I can think of is I'm running shaft rockers, and the 900 doesn't. Maybe that has a lot too do with it?????

Kinda like "It's not how you drive it's how you arrive" kinda deal. Hah. Different lobe families. Faster opening and closing rate. That's why I wanna get your cam and compare the two with a degree wheel and dial indicator.

Its very well possible you'll be able to see the difference in the lobes with both on a bench. Those spring pressures are definately incorrect.

btw I thought they came with t&d's. If I remember correctly I read an article most importantly was to ck valve lash and spring pressures and inspect lifters and lobes however some just replace springs and lifters to be on the safe side. Might be what merc even recommends. Valve seats would be another concern however easily to detect with lash.

A lot has to do with how hard you run the engines also that's why it can and will vary from engine to engine. Seems like guys were braking springs at low hours. 50-70.

I was thinking the same thing on the spring pressure. My cam uses a 230/648 spring pressure. The pressure listed on your cam is WAY less, and not much smaller.
