Default swap 350 alpha to 454.

I have a Chris Craft 230 Scorpion SL Limited. I bought it has a project, soft floor and broken engine. The floor and stringers will be fix, it straight forward. I was going to rebuild the 350 has a 383 vortec with a few extra goodies to max out the alpha. But that would cost a few $$$ up here in Canada and the stock engine is a total lost, from carb to oil pan (sitting too long after hydro lock). I came across a complete 1990 7.4L 310hp with low hrs for 2k . It's was in the water last year and the guy bought the boat for the Bravo's. I can fire up the engine and do a comp test to it.
I've read so many post, lost of them do back down from it, but $$ talk and I will be gentile on it. Maybe a Bravo down the rd, but would like to have the boat in water this year!!!
What do I need, to bolt up that 7.4L to my Alpha? I will take all the parts that I can from it.
Thanks

You need the sift interupt, the cannon plug should be the same, it should bolt right in, Im guessing its thru hull exhaust? you will need to fill the old exhaust holes and cut new ones.

the Alpha and Bravo / small block to big block exhaust Y pipe is the exact same and same part number. So is the O ring gasket for that to seal at the inner transom assembly exhaust outlet.

Using the stock manifolds, 4” hose will make it from a bbc to sbc transom holes.

That combination was only offered for one year it will eat up the alpha, so be very careful on getting on plane each time.

Alpha's are cheap enough to find, have a spare. You can get a SEII knock off with a warranty too. Good luck with your project!
