I have tested 2 of many pair of injectors and not yet. The dead times of the injector is the issue. I am working on it - still. If I was dishonest about all my testing and money thrown at for testing PLUS money hunger -- dead times would mean nothing to me. With that said - it should tell all in the boating community about myself. Enough said

And more info like I said 1980's junk injector. Wavefoam from the car side as well. Like I said the coil will short out with time on these injectors. You can search the great info I provide about these a couple years ago right here on the OSO forums. Link coming

sorry I can not post the video that I mentioned above - it will not allow me to. Anyways I wonder if it will let me post my own video testing these junkers. If not Ill post pics at the very least. I do have the GM info as to why they fail. Ill post that later but have to get some work done as well first and foremost

These injectors started in 1985 and GM stopped having them made in 2001 if I recall correctly.

Thank you everyone for your input, But here is a question where can I go and cross merc numbers to GM part numbers,

500 rebuild

wild At this time according BUP and GM there are no injector part numbers available for replacements. A number of guys are working to find a solution, but a costly slow process.

Like I said I could come up here and blab that holy moly I have the exact match for the 500 EFI fuel injectors. I would sell out in a week and make me some money. But I would be totally BS everyone. That is not my style period. I have worked on this and even over the winter with no progress even to report.for an exact plug and play match.

When I get a chance I will quote GM about these injectors when they reported on discontinuing the GM Multec injectors way back in 2001. They knew that it was a bad design and had to come up with some excuse. Their main blame was E 10 being the issue saturating the internal coil causing it to fail for jist of info. What bull - many areas in 2001 and back was using MTBE formulated gasoline. NON - E 10.

Does RC Injection have a unit that will work? I've had great luck with their Kehein styled injectors.

To post video, you have to host the video on youtube or similar.

Why does every 500efi thread now turn into a talk or lecture on injectors. He asked questions on rebuilds...

my build from from last year:
1. Johnson lifters
2. Trend push rods
3. Scorpion marine endurance rockers
4. Isky 8005 springs
5. Pro felt gaskets

We didn’t do bottom ends so can’t help you there...

moses thank you! I guess we get off track sometimes either way everyone on here has been very helpful and great to deal with. My questions really this the engines I have are blue 500 efi and from what I understand it is a gen VI 502. I know that the cam is different for marine applications but isn't everything else just like a GM crate 502? If that was the case why cant I just get a list of GM part numbers and go to the GM dealer and order the parts. I just want a part list on GM part number for these engines. thanks

as you mentioned, the cam is a bit more radical than a common 502 crate engine. As such the common belief is the factory pac springs are on the low side for spring rate. With that said, people usually opt for better higher force springs (I.e. isky). With the higher spring force comes the need for better lifters, push rods, etc. it’s a domino effect really.

The general consensus is that you’d likely be ok with GM factory parts but why when you can get better parts for equal if not less money. There is comfort in knowing your valve train is over designed and can likely go longer than factory gm stuff.
