Replace water inlet for Bravo
My water circulation on the Bravo One is poor due to clogged water inlet hose from the, through drive, water pick-up tube. The clog is at the inlet hose where the hose from water pump picks up at the back of the engine. My question is: can I change this small water hose between the gimbal and the Helmet without having to remove the helmet? I know that I need to remove the outdrive to remove the plastic insert in the hose, both at the helmet and on the inside back of the boat where the water pick-up hose connects. Any suggestions and guidance will be much appreciated. If anyone knows of a Video in Youtube that would also be helpful. Hector.

I would say yes. there is a newer type hose then the old style should be pics and instructions everywhere on the net. the old hose was all hose the new one is plastic tube at the front and most of the way down. molded perfectly for the curves and you only use insert at the helmet on this one. much better design and no way this one can get kinked

Thank you! Much appreciated. I found the kit, now I need to see if anyone has actually been able to change it with the helmet on. Looks kike space is very limited back there.

Thanks. I had already seen this, but my main concern is if I'm actually going to be able to replace it without removal of the helmet? Maybe once I turn the drive aall the way to the right I will be able to insert the tube...Thanks for the reply!

I used this kit last winter, and I removed the helmet (motor was out too to fix a leak in they pipe). You will be making it way harder on yourself not removing the helmet as it's not that difficult especially if it an HP style transom assembly. It's a good time to change the hose from the gear oil reservoir too. I'm not sure how well you will be able to do this with the motor in the boat also. As the way mine was rigged with a the y pipe for choice exhaust it would be nearly impossible to install this kit with the motor in the boat.

That's Bravoits and installed the kit last year I think. Don't see how your going to do it with the helmet. The plastic tube is kind of flimsy and while you probably won't even get it on, it can be damaged

Yeah, I suspected this would be an issue. I can get to the back of the engine with a little difficulty, but I will try with the helmet on, if not, I'll just pull it out. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the heads-up!
