I believe the 440 cyclone cam was a 232/239 , 110LSA, with a 104 ICL. 550/557 lift.

Have decided to go with hyd flat tappet cam because i allready have all the valvetrain parts for that, what you think about comp xe274 0.050 230/236, lobe 110. It is almost identical to the old merc 454 440hp cyclone cam. My heads flow better than those cyclones and i have 10 to 1 compression against the cyclones 8.5 to 1. My dynamic compression would be 8.37 with the xe274. Hoping to get in 470-500hp.

+5-6% for the compression and +60cfm on those heads. Could make a lot more power than a 440 depending on what exhaust you choke it with.

What is the purpose of the braided lines connecting the front and rear water ports on each side of that intake manifold?

move water from the back of the head,so steam pockets don't develop.makes water temp more consistent across the whole head.

what your trying to do,,you can use the timing cover(need to drill and tap for extra bolt holes) and for the pan,you need to get a gen5 oil pan.cam may need a shim up by the gear to align chain and need a cam button.prety sure thats what I did on my gen 6 blocks.its been since 2004 when I did it.

Ok, so its not that simple. I already have one new comp 2110 timing set left from another project. Dont know does it make any difference but Going to use mark IV lunati flat tappet cam.

you'll need a cam button and most likely a shim since the gen 6 block is relieved for a cam retainer plate.
