Idle home with broke blower belt?
Gotta ask a dumb one - I boat on the atlantic in a big cruiser ... typically long overnights to Bahamas or Keys so I double everything like an airplane pilot because I want to always get home under my own power no matter what.
Theoretically it seems I should be able to idle home if blower belts, pulleys or whatever blower part I dont have on board breaks. In practice - is this true?

I've taken belts off blown up blowers and got on plane using both engines, get home alot faster than idling, usually around 55mph or 3-3200rpm.this has been w/ port efi and throttle body efi.non blower motor runs alittle richer and need a little more throttle.

I lost a belt last summer, idled about an hour back no problem. After the first hour I tried getting on plane, port motor did all the work, starboard wouldn’t turn much over 2500 but it beat idling the whole way. Ran maybe 35 or so. Megablowers with carbs
