Weld a cracked GIL manifold?

Anyone know if a crack like this can be welded? I live in europe and a new manifold isn’t easy to find here. It’s for my HP500 merc.

Notorious for cracking there. Yes can safely be welded/heliarced. Ideally replace but I've had a couple welded over the years without failure.

Welded and ready to go

Had a friend weld it and I think it looks great

Pressure test it.

Good job.

I have seen them crack there also, I think it's a design flaw. I don't think they expand at the same rate, particularly when run on raw water. Welding up the transfer ports and running the engine closed cooling system helps a bunch.
