Help!!

So I cut this out. I can make a new one with 1.5 inch marine plywood or two pieces of 3/4 ply no problem
i can cut bottom at angle needed & epoxy bond to floor then lay glass onto it!
how in heck is this going to then handle 840 hp!!!
Any tips would be appreciated!

scrap your plywood idea and start with solid pieces of wood

What wood should I use if you don’t recommend plywood?

There are many threads on here and a wealth of expertise.
Search and you’ll get all your answers.
I would check all your stringers and transom very carefully. If rot is in one place it’s likely in other areas. I’ve been down this road.

I would cut out the entire stringer and replace with replace with laminated marine plywood.

Again their are others on OSO far more knowledgeable than I.

What year make and model is that boat?

1986 checkmate 30 foot
building up 632 ci 850 engines.
id like my engine mounting system to be bulletproof!
has anyone ever glassed in strips of 1/4 stainless with tabs sticking up. Then bolt an aluminum plate to that to mount motor? I’d like to get away from plywood!

Properly built, a good marine plywood with 3 or 4 layers of 1708 is a hell of a lot stronger than you are giving it credit for........
