Engine mounts
are these engine mounts ok for 850 hp big block engines? https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dfaa456089.png Are these style mounts ok for 850 hp engine? |
easy answer? NO
|
I am running the upper half but solid bottoms on 800 + HP
But my boat doesn't jump out of the water much. |
alot of hp into a stud..........
it would work but is it the best way ......no |
the problem is the lag bolts that go into the stringers
|
I would not use those in anything over about 450hp unless you bolt them to something like this https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...aed24d9814.jpg

The stringer mounts on mine are bigger than that.

not really = not handy
They are just bigger again my boat is a cat so it doesn't jump big waves like my Scarab did. But I had the same mounts on my Scarab without any problems. I solid mount my engines. The mounts on my Daytona don't have any rubber. That and I have the rear mounts locked down so the engine can't twist or move. |
the feet walk even on the stringer mounts Grif posted. The torque of the engine is one of the contributing factors. - Rough water is another, also harmonics of the engine and so on. The bigger the torque of the engine the worst it is on the feet -
Feet = what the OP posted in the pic |
