Building New Small blocks

This coming off season I plan on building 2 brand new engines for my Formula. When I say new, I mean Blocks and all. I will sell the stock 350 mag MPI's that come out of it. I plan on building either 383's or 400's (depending on the new dart blocks I get). I'm not looking for huge power but would like to see between 425-450 reliable hp. So I'll get on with the questions.
1:What would be the best hydraulic roller marine cam that sounds good and has good mid-top end?
2:What would be the best ignition system, HEI, box triggered etc.?
3:What would be the best carburetor?
4:What would be the best fuel injection?
5:Would the stock fuel pumps be able to keep up?
6:Would I be able to use the serpentine belt drive systems off the old engines?
7:Would internal balance or external balance be best?
8:How much are good-running 350 mag MPI's worth?

Any input is appreciated !!

Have you ever considered LS power? The numbers you want would be extremely easy to make with one and be extremely reliable. You wouldn't have to get aftermarket blocks either. A bone stock LS2 (6.0L) makes 405 hp. It wouldn't take much to get you to 450.

I have to do my homework on all the parts I need but it imay be an option.

The aftermarket is catching up with parts but they’re expensive. Reversion does seem to be an issue even with dry to the tip exhaust. I also support going with the LS but those are a couple of considerations.

Id think that some old school small blocks with 174 blowers would be a pretty inexpensive and reliable rocket. 500hp on a mild build will give ya a 1000hp boat and bravos that may survive.
