First timer with marine headers...
Recently just came across a great deal on headers locally for my 7.4 454 baja. Learning the hard way they weren't really close to my setup that i needed but they are doable. they are CMI Etop headers..i already figured out i need bravo tails ( looking for a set if anyone is selling any!!) Next issue im having is i have no welded on bungs to attach my shift cable bracket. now ive heard of being doing brackets on their transom when they swap to headers..anyone have any more pictures or info on this?

Make sure to pressure test those E-tops for leaks, don't want to lock up a motor

transom, stringer, don't kink the cables |
I would weld a plate to the cmi header for placement. I e seen them put down on the stringers and it looks like a nightmare to service if needed. |

Question number 1... Do you actually need headers?
|
Is this a completely stock 7.4? Anyway the shift bracket DIY kit from CMI is $116.99 P/N: 28235P

i dont really need them but got a deal on them when i found out my manifolds were looking rough on my setup. i plan on working the 454 and the headers will always help as i build it along |
