Formula power floor step.
Anyone ever remove and fix a power sliding floor step. My passenger makes a noise but doesn’t move looks to be off track. Not sure how to remove or access it. Anyone repaired one before?

After you remove the pads there are 4 bolts holding the footrest on to the mechanism ....my prob is that the bolts thread thru nuts glassed into the lower section ....at least one of my bolts would spin free meaning the nuts had broke free of the lower section and you couldn't remove the bolt .... the footrest still works but is kinda loose and wobbles around some .... planned on fixing it during the winter .....that was ten years ago ! let us know how it works out .......m

To remove mine, I have to take the movable step all the way to the top of its travel. Remove the 4 #12 countersunk screws. Then if you wiggle it tilting aft edge up to clear floor, it will come out.
but the actuator has to be all the way up because the second step is stuck under the frame of the mechanism frame rails where it mounts.
if the floor actuator will not go up, you will have to make a big hole to gain access to the bolts that secure it to the floor of boat. I don’t know of any access from the sides.
as far as the potted/fiberglassed nut coming loose, my screws go directly into the aluminum frame. So if the screw spins, the threads are stripped.
drill off the head and go for it
