Removing inner transom plate TRS
How hard to remove the inner / outer transom plates ? Motors are pulled and the drives are removed. Rams are still attached tie to transom to hold them up. I’m wanting to remove what’s left how hard for a non mechanic? Any help / advice appreciated

Not hard at all, 8 nuts and disconnect the drive lube reservoir hose.

Thanks, that’s what I was hoping to hear, I felt with everything already off and out it shouldn’t be too hard. Never had done it before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Thank You

agree with cig28,,,if yiou have everything else removed , its pretty easy.
did mine in 2015 |
Easy job and will allow you to get a good look at the transom. Just don't re-install using 5200.

When you install something with 5200 it’s there forever. You should have a cork gasket for the TRS drives.

5200 is a 3M adhesive/ sealant that is very strong and once cured can be very difficult to get things that were mated together ( using it) apart

Not to sound stupid, but I was always told there are no stupid questions! " don't re-install using 5200" Could you explain please.
Lots of important stuff back there and it's not always obvious how things go back together properly. I've seen gelcoat pulled off when removing a drive somebody sealed with 5200. Very ugly indeed. |
