Crank Sensor 496 HO Can't get out

Needed to change Crank sensor, was stuck top broke off. Tried drilling some holes to break oring then ran screw in there. When I pulled on screw the top 3/4 inch of sensor broke off, that had oring on it. Still can't move it, tried running screw in again and its hitting something. Tried drilling pilot hole for screw and it wont go in, is there a stainless plate inside sensor?

Other than pulling engine so I can get to it better, any suggestions?

Thanks

I went through this a few years ago. This thread has my solution (w/photos). Good luck. It will come out.

sounds like a solid plan. It’s the swollen O ring that is the likely culprit.

blow a hair dryer on the sensor and at the base on high heat. or use a small paint stripper gun carefully. if no go let it cool to down to warm -- then use a solution of tranny fluid and acetone at the base pry up with a big blade screw driver. The acetone will relieve the swollen oring

Do not use heat with tranny fluid and acetone
